For everyone wondering why I'm barely posting on here the past couple of months is because I don't feel that good anymore on this account and I kinda lost my dedication for it. I've been feeling like this for some time now. i'm not gonna close this account down, but i'm just not gonna be very active on it anymore. I moved on to instagram so if you still want to follow me there or see more art, feel free to come and take a look!  www.instagram.com/evelien_vang…

Thank you to everyone who supported me through this whole journey on this site! ♥

Hey, Evelien. First of all, I just want to say that I think your artwork is SENSATIONAL! I've never seen such an interesting style used with colored pencils and graphite pencils that gives it a photographic look without taking away the graphite/colored pencil attribute. Furthermore, I want to give some encouragement. As an artist myself, I know exactly how you feel. It feels even worse when those around you expect you to continue to draw with endless dedication. It's hard to stay committed to something, especially when it becomes something that you feel more obligated to do than something that you feel pleasure in doing. Honestly, Evelien, I feel that I have not made that much improvement either in the past year or so. And part of that may have to do with a loss in dedication. I go on Instagram a lot - have you ever seen those pictures artists post in which they have a drawing they did a year ago compared to their most recent drawing? Obviously, it's to show drastic improvement, but I wonder how these artists, young as they are, came to be so much greater in just a year. Dedication, I told myself. It's what strengthens us in any area: mentally or physically. I think dedication is fueled from the sacrifice we make by daily reserving time for what we love most. Sorry if this was more of a lecture than a comment of encouragement. I want you to know that I enjoyed seeing your artwork and you amazed me with your talent.
